Anthony J. Ginnetti, ’67, was co-captain of the Owls football team as a senior and was an outstanding catcher on the baseball team. He helped lead the Owls to the NCAA Atlantic Coast Championship in Yankee Stadium, scoring the winning run in a victory over Long Island University. He later served for 10 seasons as an assistant coach in both football and baseball for the Owls. Ginnetti has served as president of the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association and received an Alumni Baseball Award from the Southern baseball program. A long-time teacher in the Woodbridge school system, he was selected as the 1997 Teacher of the Year.
