David Wilda, ’72, was an outstanding linebacker for the Owls, best remembered with his teammates for a goal line stand against Central Connecticut. He went on to play in the Seaboard Professional Football League, the Atlantic Football League and the World Football League. Wilda served as assistant coach at Mattatuck Community College from 1972-77. Throughout his career, he was a leading advocate for the rights of the disabled.
