George Barone, ’80, was a starting offensive guard for the Owls for three years, following a stand-out high school career in which he was an All-State offensive lineman for Hamden High School. In his senior year at Southern, Barone was selected to the All-New England team. He went on to serve as assistant coach at Branford High School and served as vice president of the Owl Varsity Club.
