Peter Kormann, ’78, became the first American male gymnast in 44 years to earn an Olympic medal when he won a bronze medal in floor exercise at Montreal in 1976. He was the only gymnast in NCAA history to win all-around titles in Division I and Division II. He was named the USGF Gymnast of the Year in 1976 and won the Nissen Award in 1977. He went on to coach at the United States Naval Academy and Ohio State University.
