NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.) of the volleyball team and senior Louis Greenway-Tambini (Nottingham, England) of the men’s soccer team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Gage had a monster week individually in a 3-0 week as a team for the Owls. She averaged 3.6 kills per set and posted an incredible .525 hitting percentage. Gage started the week with 13 kills and four blocks in a win over Saint Rose. She followed that up with 16 kills and a .682 hitting percentage in a win over Chestnut Hill and seven kills and a .700 hitting percentage in a win over Felician.
Greenway-Tambini continued his clutch play with two more goals in a 1-0-1 week for the nationally ranked Owls. He netted a brace of goals, including the game-winner, his fifth of the year, in the Owls' win at AIC.
Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University’s ‘Athlete of the Week’ recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the ‘Athlete of the Week’ program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
