Overview
The Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Communications Office serves as the intermediary between the Owls' 19 varsity programs and local, regional and national media outlets.

SCSU Athletic Communications works closely with SCSU coaches, student-athletes and administrators to publicize the accomplishments of all Owls student'athletes. In addition to publicity, SCSU Athletic Communications also coordinates all statistical compilation, photography, video streaming, broadcasting, graphic design and publications, website maintenance for the Official Website of Southern Connecticut State University Athletics, SCSUOwls.com as well as all social media accounts affiliated with SCSU Athletics.

SCSU Athletic Communications is at the service of coaches, student-athletes and members of the media 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For credentials to Southern Connecticut State University athletics events, please contact Ken Sweeten, Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications at sweetenk1@southernct.edu.

Southern Connecticut State University Athletics Interview Policy
All interviews with Southern Connecticut State University student-athletes, coaches and administrators must be coordinated with a member of the SCSU Athletic Communications Office. Should a Southern Connecticut State University student-athlete be approached by a member of the media, they are asked to please direct the member of the media to the appropriate Athletic Communications contact.

Media refers to technologies used to communicate messages and whose mission is to serve or engage a public. Public media domains include print outlets, traditional broadcasts, and digital. When utilizing any public media outlet, student-athletes are expected to conduct themselves responsibly as members of their respective team, the Athletics Department, the University and the community.

www.SCSUOwls.com
SCSUOwls.com is the only Official Website of Southern Connecticut State University Athletics. Student-athlete bios, coaches' profiles, as well as game notes, schedules and results, statistics and up-to-the-minute Southern Connecticut State University Athletics news, are maintained by Athletic Communications and publicized at SouthernCTOwls.com. Should a Southern Connecticut State University student-athlete find inaccurate information on SCSUOwls.com, they are urged to contact the appropriate Athletic Communications contact to correct the mistake.

Biographical Information Usage
At the beginning of every academic year, all Southern Connecticut State University student-athletes will receive a link to complete an online form containing biographical information that will be utilized to develop the student-athlete's online bio at SCSUOwls.com. Southern Connecticut State University student-athletes are urged to complete these forms as thoroughly as possible so that Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Communications has as much information as possible in order to publicize that student-athlete. By completing the form and submitting, the student-athlete gives their consent to Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Communications to use that information for publicity purposes.

Student-Athlete Likeness Usage
At the beginning of each academic year, Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Communications will coordinate photo sessions to shoot student-athlete head shots and promotional shots for use on SCSUOwls.com and other publications. In addition, Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Communications will coordinate in-game photography to capture action shots of student-athletes in competition. By completing the online biographical information form, student-athletes give their consent to Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Communications to use their likeness for promotional purposes.

Working Press Credentials
Press and photograph credentials are issued to members of the working media only. Please contact the athletic communications office for credentials. Upon acceptance, passes will be mailed to the respective media member or left at will call (football only). Passes should be requested no later than 24 hours prior to a contest to ensure space availability.

Press Box Facilities/Services
The press areas at Moore Field House and Jess Dow Field are available for only credentialed members of the media. All members of the working media will be provided with extensive game notes, statistics and rosters approximately 90 minutes before each contest. Statistics will be provided at halftime, while a complete statistical package will be distributed immediately following the contest. Reporters can file from the either the Jess Dow Field press box or the athletic communications office following the game. There is wireless access available in both the Jess Dow Field press box and Moore Fieldhouse.

Post-Game Interviews
Interviews with SCSU student-athletes and head coaches will take place following a 10-minute cooling-off period. The Owls' locker room is closed to the media both for home and road contests. A member of the athletic communications staff will assist you in the interview process. Interviews with opposing players must be arranged with the opposing team's SID.

Interview Policies
All requests for interviews must be conducted through the athletic communications office. Requests must be made at least one day in advance to allow the player/coach to be properly notified. At no time will the player's dormitory telephone number be released to the media. However, if a telephone interview is necessary, arrangements can be made for the student-athlete to contact that member of the media.

Practice Coverage
Southern Connecticut State University's athletic programs practice at set times during the academic year. All student-athletes and coaches are available for interviews prior to, or following, practice with proper notification to the athletic communications office. Interviews are not granted on game days unless there are extenuating circumstances.
