Volleyball Tipped At Molloy, 3-0

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team lost to Molloy, 3-0 (20-25, 23-25, 24-26), in a non-conference match-up in Rockville Centre, N.Y. With the loss, SCSU drops to 14-13 overall while Molloy improved to 16-6. 

Gabriela Vazquez (Meriden, Conn.) had a team-high 11 kills with five digs while Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.) totaled 10 kills, three digs and three blocks. Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) turned in a her 14th double-double performance of the season, with 10 kills and 14 digs. Jillian Chambers (Shelby Township, Mich.) had a team-high 15 digs.

NOTES
  • Jadus totaled her 14th double-double of the season, and her fifth her last six games. 
  • The Owls loss ends a four-game winning streak. 
  • Chambers' 15 digs are her third-most of the season, and marks the third time in her last four contests to reach double digits in digs. 
  • Gage, the NE10 Player of the Week as announced earlier today, posted her fifth-straight double-digit kill total, while she also hit .276 for the game, go give her a hitting percentage of .200-or-high for the ninth time in her last 10 games. 
  • Kailyn O'Neal (Katy, Texas) and Kylie Fisher (Scottsdale, Ariz.) both tallied 17 assists for the Owls. 
UP NEXT
The Owls resume Northeast 10 play this weekend when they travel to Rindge, N.H. on Saturday, Oct. 27 to take on Franklin Pierce at 1 p.m.
