The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team will host Mercy College in non-conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Pelz Gymnasium.

All-Time Against Mercy: 6-7
The Last Time They Met: It's been quite some time since these two programs last met on Oct. 13, 2015. The Owls defeated the Mavericks 3-1 at Pelz Gym.

Last Time Out
The Owls defeated Wilmington, 3-1 on Sunday, Oct. 10.
  • Sophomore Kacey Deecher led the offensive charge for SCSU with 10 kills and 13 digs and chipped in one service ace.
  • Sophomore Taylor Jones recorded 27 assists, five digs, and one service ace.
  • Sophomore Krishnalei So'oto picked up 21 digs.
  • Junior Gabriela Gaibur picked up 18 digs.
  • Graduate student Abigail Epstein contributed 10 kills, four blocks, and six digs, while
  • Freshman Lily Miller rounded out the setting for SCSU with 18 assists.
     
The Owls in the NE10
  • Abigail Epstein is tied for first in the conference in hitting percentage (.352).
  • Gabriela Gaibur is first in the NE10 in total kills with 235 on the season, while Epstein is sixth with 193.
  • Taylor Jones is fifth in the conference in assists per set with 9.39. Jones is also third in the NE10 in total assists with 526. 
  • Krishnalei So'oto is 10th in digs per set with 3.97 and tied for fourth in total digs with 270. Gaibur is seventh in total digs with 248.
  • Abigail Epstein is third in total blocks with 57, and Erika Benson is sixth with 52.
  • Gabriela Gaibur is first in the conference in total points scored with 268.5, while Epstein is second with 262.5.
  • Abigail Epstein is tied for first in service aces with 32, while Gabriela Gaibur is fifth with 25.

  • Gabriela Gaibur is ranked 20th in DII in total kills (235).
  • Abigail Epstein is tied for 22nd in service aces (32).
  • Gabriela Gaibur is 19th in total attacks (692).
  • SCSU is ranked fourth in DII in total team kills with 971.
  • SCSU is ranked fourth in team assists with 887.
  • Southern is ranked 10th in total team service aces with 151.
  • The Owls are ranked sixth in DII in total team digs with 1,303.

  • Kacey Deecher recorded her first career double-double with career-highs in kills (10) and digs (13) against Wilmington on Oct. 10.
  • Gabriela Gaibur recorded her 17th double-digit dig game against Wilmington on Oct. 10.
  • Taylor Jones hit the 500-assist milestone against Wilmington with a 27-assist performance.
  • Abigail Epstein recorded her 11th game with double-digit kills and her ninth game with multiple service aces against Wilmington.
  • Epstein also recorded her 12th game with at least three blocks this season.
  • Erika Benson recorded her 13th game this season with multiple blocks, and her seventh game with at least three blocks against Wilmington.
  • Krishnalei So'oto recorded her third game this season with at least 20 digs.
