The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team will travel to Bentley University on Friday, Oct. 15. Bentley currently sits third in the Northeast 10, while SCSU sits closely behind them in fourth.

Spectator Policy
Bentley University Athletics has announced their spectator policy for all Fall and Winter 2021-22 sports to allow spectators at competitions. More information on the spectator policies for each NE10 institution can be found here. 

• When attending an indoor competition, all spectators must wear a mask at all times while inside the building, regardless of vaccination status

The Owls swept Mercy College in non-conference action on Oct. 12.

• Senior Erika Benson and graduate student Gabriela Vazquez led the attack for Southern Connecticut with 11 kills each.
• Sophomore Kacey Deecher had 17 digs, seven kills, and a block.
• Sophomore Taylor Jones continued her playmaking zest with 27 assists.
• Sophomore Krishnalei So'oto recorded 24 digs.
• Junior Gabriela Gaibur had 23 digs of her own.

 
The Owls in the NE10

• Abigail Epstein is tied for first in the conference in hitting percentage (.347).
• Gabriela Gaibur is first in the NE10 in total kills with 238 on the season, while Epstein is sixth with 200.
• Taylor Jones is fifth in the conference in assists per set with 9.37. Jones is also third in the NE10 in total assists with 553. 
• Krishnalei So'oto is 10th in digs per set with 4.14 and third in total digs with 294. Gaibur is fifth in total digs with 271.
• Abigail Epstein is second in total blocks with 60, and Erika Benson is sixth with 52.
• Abigail Epstein is first in the conference in total points scored with 272.5, while Gaibur is second with 271.5, and Gabriela Vazquez is ninth with 189.5.
• Abigail Epstein is first in service aces with 33, while Gabriela Gaibur is fifth with 25, and Krishnalei So'oto is tied for 10th with 22.

• Gabriela Gaibur is ranked 21st in DII in total kills (238).
• Abigail Epstein is tied for 21st in service aces (33).
• Gabriela Gaibur is 17th in total attacks (707).
• SCSU is ranked fifth in NCAA DII in total team kills with 1,013.
• SCSU is ranked fourth in team assists with 887.
• Southern is ranked 10th in total team service aces with 151.
• The Owls are ranked sixth in DII in total team digs with 1,303.

Notes

• Erika Benson tied her season-high in kills with 11 against Mercy on Oct. 13. She also has 11 kills on Oct. 2 against Le Moyne.
• Gabriela Vazquez recorded her sixth double-digit kill game of the season against Mercy.
• Taylor Jones recorded her 12th game this season with at least 25 assists against Mercy.
• Lily Miller tied her career-high with three service aces, which was also done on Oct. 8 against Saint Rose. 
• Abigail Epstein now has 12 games this season with at least three blocks. 
• Krishnalei So'oto recorded her fourth game with at least 20 digs, and her second consecutive. 
• Gabriela Gaibur set a new season-high with 23 digs against Mercy, which was one off her career-high of 24 done on Nov. 6, 2019 against New Haven.
