The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team will travel to Springfield to face American International College in a crucial NE10 conference battle. The Owls are currently eighth in the Northeast 10 standings, while the Yellow Jackets are 10th. With two conference games remaining for both sides coming into this match, this result is key as the Owls are looking to stay alive and the Yellow Jackets are on the outside looking in. Â Â

American International College Athletics have announced its spectator policy for the Fall 2021 season. All spectators regardless of vaccination status are required to wear face coverings, as well as social distance whenever possible, for both outdoor and indoor contests on campus.

The Last Time They Met: The last time these two teams met they played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 30, 2019. Juliana Santos was the lone goal scorer for the Owls.

Scouting the Match Against AIC
- The Owls are coming off a 2-0 defeat by Saint Anselm College, while the Yellow Jackets shutout New Haven, 4-0.
- AIC is 4-3 at home this season, while Southern is 1-4 on the road.
- Kylee Slavik and Kaitlyn D'Amico will be the Players to Watch for Southern Connecticut. Slavik is itching for her first collegiate goal on the offensive front. She has recorded at least four shots in six-straight games tallying 25 in total. D'Amico is in similar fashion to that of Slavik. She has recorded at least two shots in all of the Owls' games but two this season and has 14 shots in her last five in pursuit of the back of the net.
- The one-two punch of Rachel Newman and Reese Carey will be an interesting duo to watch for AIC. Newman leads the Yellow Jackets in goals this season with four, two of which were game-winners, and has added an assist and 13 shots. Carey has three goals, three assists and 10 shots.

- Allie Smith is fifth in the conference in total saves with 55 on the season. She is also tied for third in shutouts with five.
- Kelsey Burr is tied for fourth in game-winning goals with three this season. Kaitlyn D'Amico is tied for eighth with two.
- Kaitlyn D'Amico is ninth in shots on goal with 19.
