Both sides traded points and opportunities, but Saint Anselm came ahead in the tug-o-war with a 10-8 lead. Southern did not let up and responded with 7-0 run behind three Vazquez kills and two service aces from So'oto. The Hawks attempted to muster a comeback, but fell short and the Owls took a five-point victory.
  • The final set was a close battle between both sides as the back-and-forth play continued. With the score tied 12-12, Southern rattled off a 5-1 run that stretched its lead to four points.
