Southern Connecticut men's and women's swimming & diving will compete at the Fairfield Invitational on Oct. 8-9, 2021. Diving events will take place on Friday, Oct. 8 while the remaining swimming events will occur on Saturday, Oct. 9.

THEIR LAST TIME OUT

• Both teams opened the season against West Chester and Shippensburg in West Chester, Pa.
• The men fell to West Chester, 208.00-60.00 and Shippensburg, 160.00-87.00. 
• The women lost to West Chester, 212.00-74.00, and Shippensburg, 143.00-133.00.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS VS. WEST CHESTER & SHIPPENSBURG

• Freshman Arianna Arturi posted a pair of top-3 finishes for the day completing the 200 Yard Freestyle in 2:03.09 and the 100 Yard Freestyle in 56.55. 
• Anya Celmer finished third in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle event.
• Freshman Natalie Weier also placed third in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:31.88.
• In the 500 Yard Freestyle, the Owls grabbed two of the top-five spots in the 11-person race, as freshman Brooke Keeney grabbed a third-place finish at 5:39.53 with Weier close behind in fourth at 5:43.18.
• In the 1 Meter and 3 Meter Diving events Cecelia Vess finished third out of five divers while Isabella Forte was close behind in fourth. 

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS VS. WEST CHESTER & SHIPPENSBURG

• Henry Velazquez posted a third-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:48.55 and in the 200 Yard Butterfly at 2:01.94. He also posted the third-best time in the 100 Yard Freestyle at 49.58. 
• Dylan Prescher posted a time of 10:45.06 in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. 
• Johnny Colascione had a time of 1:09.31 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke and 2:37.21 in the 200 Yard Breaststroke as well as a 2:18.39 in the 200 Yard Individual Medley.

Southern will enjoy a break until Friday, Nov. 12 when they compete against Worcester Polytechnic in Worcester, Mass.
