The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team will travel to Saint Rose on Friday, Oct. 8 for a conference meeting with the Golden Knights. The Owls sit fifth in the Northeast 10, while the Golden Knights are 11th. Then, on Sunday, Oct. 10, the Owls will host American International and Wilmington in non-conference action.

Spectator Policy
  • Saint Rose Athletics has announced its spectator policy for the Fall 2021. At this time, no visiting team spectators will be permitted in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium for games.
  • Southern Connecticut Athletics have announced their spectator policy for all Fall and Winter 2021-22 sports to allow spectators at competitions. Please find the details of the spectator policy here.

All-Time Against Saint Rose: 6-7
The Last Time They Met: The pair met earlier this season as the Owls swept the Golden Knights on Sept. 4, 2021.

The Last Time They Met: The pair met earlier this season as the Yellow Jackets swept the Owls on Sept. 29, 2021.

All-Time Against Wilmington: 3-3
The Last Time They Met: These two squads last met on Sept. 8, 2018 when the Wildcats swept the Owls.
 
Last Time Out
The Owls fell to Stonehill College in non-conference action at Pelz Gym.
  • Junior Gabriela Gaibur led the Owls in kills with 10 and chipped in 10 digs.
  • Graduate student Abigail Epstein picked up six blocks.
  • First year setters Lily Miller and Taylor Jones recorded 13 and 12 assists, respectively. Miller added 10 digs, while Jones added seven.
  • Sophomore Krishnalei So'oto registered a team-high 19 digs along with four service aces.
     
The Owls in the NE10
  • Abigail Epstein is second in the conference in hitting percentage (.366).
  • Gabriela Gaibur is first in the NE10 in total kills with 204 on the season, while Epstein is sixth with 168.
  • Taylor Jones is fifth in the conference in assists per set with 9.65. Jones is also third in the NE10 in total assists with 463. 
  • Krishnalei So'oto is ninth in digs per set with 3.93 and seventh in total digs with 224. Gaibur is eighth in total digs with 219.
  • Abigail Epstein is fifth in total blocks with 49, and Erika Benson is sixth with 46.
  • Gabriela Gaibur is first in the conference in total points scored with 236, while Epstein is second with 228.
  • Abigail Epstein is tied for first in service aces with 28, while Gabriela Gaibur is fourth with 24.

The Owls in the NCAA
  • Gabriela Gaibur is ranked 26th in DII in total kills (204).
  • SCSU is ranked ninth in DII in total team kills with 835.
  • Southern is ranked 11th in total team service aces with 133.
  • The Owls are ranked 12th in DII in total team digs with 1,121.

Notes
  • Gaibur has recorded at least 10 kills in eight consecutive games and in 14 of her 18 games played this season.
  • Gaibur recorded her 14th double-double of the season and her eighth consecutive against Stonehill on Oct. 5.. She becomes the first Southern player with eight consecutive double-doubles since Leanna Jadus had eight straight from Nov. 1-Nov. 30, 2017. 
  • Krishnalei So'oto recorded her 13th double-digit dig game this season against Stonehill on Oct. 5.
  • Lily Miller recorded her first career double-double with 13 assists and 11 digs, both career-highs against Stonehill on Oct. 5. Her previous career-high in assists was in her first collegiate appearance with 11 on Sept. 14 against Caldwell. Her previous career-high of six digs was on Sept. 26 against Molloy.
  • The Owls suffered their first loss at home this season to Stonehill on Oct. 5 ending their nine-game unbeaten streak at Pelz Gym to start the season. The last time the Owls had a winning streak that long was in 2009 when they started 11-0 at home.
