NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving lost to Iona, 193-95, in a duel meet in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Lindsay McCawley (Horseheads, N.Y.) picked up her fourth victory of the season after posting a 5:19.17 in the 500 Yard Freestyle event. McCawley was also on the 200 Freestyle Relay team that won, which was also comprised of Ariana Arturi (Mount Olive, N.J.), Ella Marzec (Bothell, Wash.) and Nicole Cislo (Wallingford, Conn.). 

HOW IT HAPPENED
1650 Yard Freestyle

• Faith Littleton (Jackson, Mo.) was the Owls' top finisher in the 1650 Freestyle event with a time of 19:02.94.

200 Yard Freestyle

• Natalie Weier (White Beak Lake, Minn.) finished third with a time of 2:03.19.

100 Yard Backstroke

• Olivia Strelevitz (Gales Ferry, Conn.) was Southern's top finisher in the 100 Yard Backstroke event, clocking in at 1:04.16.

100 Yard Breaststroke

• Arturi finished third in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:14.33.

200 Yard Butterfly

• Hannah Nyquist (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished the 200 Yard Butterfly in 2:23.46 for third place.

50 Yard Freestyle

• Justice Glasgow (Warren, Mich.) finished the 50 Yard Freestyle event in 26.80 for third place.

100 Yard Freestyle

• Marzec finished in third place in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 56.90.

200 Yard Backstroke

• Strelevitz finished the 200 Yard Backstroke in fourth place with a time of 2:15.43.

200 Yard Breaststroke

• Maddie Dean (Lawrence, Ks.) was Southern's top finisher in the 200 Yard Breaststroke event with a time of 2:41.14 for third place.

500 Yard Freestyle

• McCawley won the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:19.17.

100 Yard Butterfly

• Strelevetz was third in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:01.86.

200 Yard Individual Medley

• Cislo finished fourth as the Owls' top finisher with a time of 2:21.49.

NOTES

• McCawley's time in the 500 Yard Freestyle event was a team and individual season-best, beating her time at Fairfield of 5:36.63.
• Weier's time in the 200 Free was the Owls' third-fastest of the season.
• Strelevitz turned in the Owls' second-best time in the 100 Backstroke this season.
• Arturri's 1:14.33 in the 100 Breast was also Southern's second-best time in the event to date.
• Nyquist posted a 2:23.46 in the 200 Buttefly for a personal-best time and Southern's second-fastest time of the season.
• Marzec's 100 Freestyle time of 56.90 is good for the second-best time of the season.
• Strelevitz followed her 100 Backstroke time with a 2:15.43 in the 200 Backstroke. She nows owns the second and third fastest times of the year for Southern.
• Cislo also posted the Owls' second-fastest time of the year in the 200 Individual Medley at 2:21.49.
• Iona did not field any divers in the 1 Meter and 3 Meter events. Nicholle Denault finished ahead of Isabella Forte in the 1 Meter event with a 202.87 to Forte's 137.25.
• In the 3 Meter event, it was Forte with 87.10 points to Denault's 16.70.
