NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer head coach Adam Cohen has announced the Owls' 2021 season, which features nine home games at Jess Dow Field.

The Owls' have not played since the 2019 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That season, the Owls' finished the year at 10-7-4 overall and 5-4-4 in Northeast 10 Conference play. The Owls advanced to the NE10 Championship game after securing the No. 7 seed in the tournament and upsetting No. 2 Stonehill and No. 6 American International, on the road, before losing a tough battle to bracket top-seed Saint Rose.

Southern's preseason schedule features Molloy at home on Aug. 21, a road scrimmage at Eastern Connecticut on Aug. 25 and a home scrimmage against Felician on Aug. 28. The Owls open the regular season at the University of Bridgeport's season-opening tournament against Mercy on Sept. 3 and host Bridgeport on Sept. 5. The Owls' first home game of the seasons pits them against Staten Island on Sept. 11.

After its home opener, Southern will then kick-off its Northeast 10 Conference schedule with back-to-back road contests at Adelphi on Sept. 15 and Bentley on Sept. 18. After hosting Assumption on Sept. 21 and traveling to Southern New Hampshire on Sept. 25, the Owls host in-state foe Post on Sept. 28.

The majority of the Owls' home slate is placed in the month of October as six of its final nine games of the season will be played at Jess Dow Field. The Owls hosts Le Moyne on Oct. 2, Pace on Oct. 15 followed by Franklin Pierce on Oct. 13 and St. Michael's on Oct. 16 as part of SCSU's Homecoming celebration.

They will then head across town to face New Haven on Oct. 20 before hosting Saint Anselm on Oct. 23. The Owls' final two games of the month sends them on the road at American International on Oct. 26 and St. Rose on Oct. 30. The Owls' regular-season comes to a close at home against Stonehill on Nov. 3, with Senior Day festivities.
