The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team will travel to Springfield, Mass. to face American International College for a conference showdown with the Yellow Jackets. 
 
Spectator Policy
American International College has released its spectator policy for the Fall 2021 season. More information on the spectator policies for each NE10 institution can be found here
  • Indoor Contests – All spectators (regardless of vaccination status) are required to wear face coverings, and social distance whenever possible.
  • Outdoor Contests - Spectators are not required to wear face coverings if fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated visitors are required to wear a facemask if social distancing is not possible.

All-Time Against AIC: 9-10
The Last Time They Met: The pair last met on Oct. 1, 2019 where AIC defeated SCSU, 3-1.
 
Last Time Out
The Owls defeated Daemen College, 3-1, and fell to Molloy College, 3-1, at Quealy Gymnasium on Sept. 26, 2021.
  • Gabriela Gaibur tallied 13 kills, 15 digs against Daemen. She tallied 10 kills,11 digs, and three service aces against Molloy.
  • Taylor Jones recorded 40 assists, 10 digs against Daemen and 21 assists against Molloy.
  • Gabriela Vazquez recorded a team-high 15 kills against , while 
  • Krishnalei So'oto had 12 digs and three services aces against Daemen.
  • Erika Benson set a new career-high with eight blocks to go along with three kills against Daemen, and picked up three more blocks against Molloy. 
  • Abigail Epstein and Layla Cortez also added nine kills each, and Jones had 21 assists. 

The Owls in the NE10
  • Abigail Epstein is first in the conference in hitting percentage (.407).
  • Gabriela Gaibur is second in the NE10 in total kills with 171 on the season, while Epstein is third with 149.
  • Taylor Jones is first in the conference in assists per set with 10.23. Jones is also third in the NE10 in total assists with 399. 
  • Krishnalei So'oto is nine in digs per set with 3.87 and seventh in total digs with 178. Gaibur is eighth in total digs with 176.
  • Abigail Epstein is third in total blocks with 41, while Erika Benson is fourth with 40.
  • Gabriela Gaibur is first in the conference in total points scored with 200, while Epstein is second with 198.5.
  • Abigail Epstein and Gabriela Gaibur are tied for first in service aces with 23 on the season.

Notes
  • Southern's 37 point frenzy in the third set against Daemen was the first time since 2018 that the Owls scored more than 30 points in a set. Southern scored at least 30 points set in a set for the eighth time since 2008, when the NCAA switched from a 30-point set format to 25 points.
  • Gabriela Gaibur recorded her ninth and 10th double-double of the season, and her fifth consecutive double-double dating back to Sept. 17, 2021. She tallied 13 kills and 15 digs in the Owls thriller against Daemen, and 10 kills and 11 digs the Owls loss to Molloy.
  • Taylor Jones recorded her fifth consecutive game with at least 20 assists and her 10th of the season against Molloy. She recorded her third double-double of the season with 40 assists and 10 digs against Daemen, and picked up 21 assists against Molloy.
