SCSU Women's Swimming & Diving Defeats Adelphi, St. Rose

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving team defeated Adelphi and Saint Rose in a tri-meet at Bruce Huthinson Natatorium in New Haven, Conn. The Owls topped the Panthers, 108-31, and the Golden Knights, 82-58.
  Southern received a collection of outstanding performances as the Owls won five events on the afternoon. Faith Littleton (Jackson, Mo.) won the Owls' first individual event of the day with a win in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle before Nicole Cislo (Wallingford, Conn.) won the 100 Yard Breaststroke event. Olivia Strelevitz (Gales Ferry, Conn.) won the 200 Yard Butterfly, Lindsay McCawley (Horseheads, N.Y.) won the 500 Yard Freestyle and Arianna Arturi (Mount Olive, N.J.) won the 100 Yard Freestyle.

200 Yard Medley Relay
Southern took the first event of the afternoon, tipping Saint Rose in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a team consisting of Ella Marzec, Nicole Cislo, Justice Glasgow and Arianna Arturi, 1:55.19-to-1:57.57.

1,000 Yard Freestyle
Faith Littleton (Jackson, Mo.) and Gracie Marsh (Greenwood, Ind.) took the top two spots in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle, with Littleton finishing in a blistering, season-best time of 11:13.20 while Marsh touched at 11:37.06. Littleton's time was also the Owls' third-fastest of the season.

200 Yard Freestyle
Southern took two of the top three spots in the 200 Yard Freestyle as Brooke Keeney (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished second at 2:02.93 followed by Natalie Weier (White Bear Lake, Minn.) in third at 2:05.24.

100 Yard Backstroke
Ella Marzec (Bothell, Wash.) and Anya Celmer (West Haven, Conn.) finished second and third, respectively, in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Marzec finished with a time of 1:03.39 while Celmer posted a personal, season-best time of 1:05.87.

100 Yard Breaststroke
Nicole Cislo (Wallingford, Conn.) took the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:13.03 while Abbey Piech (Tinley Park, Ill.) finished third at 1:16.45. Cislo's time was the Owls' second-fastest of the season and she now owns the top two spots on that list.

200 Yard Butterfly
Olivia Strelevitz (Gales Ferry, Conn.) won the 200 Yard Butterfly, swimming the race for the first time this season, with a time of 2:17.84. Justice Glasgow (Warren, Mich.) finished second with a time of 2:20.22.

50 Yard Freestyle
Maddie Dean (Lawrence, Ks.) led the Owls' in the 50 Yard Freestyle event, finishing second with a time of 26.75. Hailey Nyquist (Staten Island, N.Y.) was fourth at 27.72.

3 Meter Diving
Nicholle Denault finished second with a score of 180.37 while Isabella Forte finished fourth at 172.            95.

100 Yard Freestyle
Arianna Arturi won the 100 Yard Freestyle with the Owls' top time of the season of 55.62 while Loren Wurst finished fourth at 1:01.97.

200 Yard Backstroke
Brooke Kenney was the Owls' top finisher in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:20.28. Kenney's time was two seconds faster than her previous top time.

200 Yard Breaststroke
Maddie Dean finished second in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:35.49) followed by Rebekah Lockery in third place at 2:38.67. Dean's time was the Owls' second-fastest of the season.

500 Yard Freestyle
Lindsay McCawley (Horseheads, N.Y.) took the top spot in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:21.16 followed by Natalie Weier in second place at 5:32.32.

100 Yard Butterfly
Ashley Sloan finished third in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:05.96.

200 Yard Individual Medley
McCawley posted a second-place finish in the 200 Yard IM, touching at 2:15.48 for Southern's top time in the event this season.

400 Yard Freestyle Relay
The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Olivia Strelevitz, Ella Marzec, Justice Glasgow and Arianna Arturi finished second with a time of 3:50.72.
