Southern Connecticut State University is back in action on Sunday, Jan. 30 when travels to Providence, R.I. to compete in the Brown University Tri-Meet against the Bears and University of Bridgeport at 7 p.m. at Pizzitola Sports Center. Owls fans can watch live on ESPN+.

Brown University Spectator Policy For Athletic Events
Brown will welcome spectators to campus for home athletic contests. All spectators must comply with the University's COVID-19 Campus Safety Policy and follow all guidance, direction and requirements regarding COVID-19 health and safety protocols, including at events. Visitors to and guests of Brown University are explicitly subject to the provisions and expectations outlined here for vaccinations and masking.

Brown will employ contactless ticketing for all ticketed events (football, men's & women's soccer, men's & women's basketball, men's ice hockey, men's & women's lacrosse). Brown will no longer accept cash payments and will not issue physical tickets. Fans can purchase tickets online and will be provided a digital ticket through AudienceView.

The Owls' Last Time Out
  • Southern Connecticut opened the 2022 season at Bridgeport last week, falling to the Purple Knights, 189.150-187.775.
  • Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) won the All-Around competition with a score of 38.425, highlighted by wins in the Floor Exercise and the Vault, both with scores of 9.700.
  • Freshman Libby Allen (Franklin, Tenn.) competed in three events for the Owls, with a high score of 9.675 on the Balance Beam for second place.
  • Southern and Bridgeport tied the Vault event, 47.475-to-47.475.
  • The Owls took the lead after the bars event when they outscored the Purple Knights, 47.775-to-46.925.
  • Bridgeport edged the Owls on the Balance Beam, 47.300-to-47.100.
  • Bridgeport took the Floor Exercise, 47.450-to-45.425.
Vault
  • In addition to Stahlbrodt's performance at Bridgeport, Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) tied for fourth in the event with a 9.600 while Cassidy Girolamo (Newington, Conn.) was sixth at 9.550.
  • Freshman Sidney Wilson (Woodbridge, Ill.) also got on the board for the Owls with a score of 9.325.
Bars
  • Against Bridgeport, Southern took three of the top four scores on the bars, led by Stahlbrodt's 9.725.
  • Freshman Shreya Munshi (Alpharetta, Ga.) posted a 9.650 for third place while Delaney Fields (Denver, Colo.) scored a 9.575.
  • Freshman Ciana Rios (Vineland, N.J.) was the Owls' fourth scorer with a mark of 9.425.
Balance Beam
  • Against the Purple Knights, the Owls took three of the top four spots on the Balance Beam, led by Allen's 9.600 for second place.
  • Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) and Emelia Diaz (Jacobus, Pa.) tied for third with scores of 9.625. Stahlbrodt also scored for Southern with a 9.300.
Floor Exercise
  • Stahlbrodt posted a meet-high 9.700 for first place while Noely Macias (Fitchburg, Mass.) posted a 9.375.
  • Allen followed with a 9.300.
Next Up
Southern is back in action on Sunday, Feb. 6 when it travels across town to face Yale at the John J. Lee Ampitheater at Payne Whitney Gymnasium. Spectators will not be permitted at the event, though the competition will air live on ESPN+ with live results also available.
