PROVIDENCE. R.I. – Southern Connecticut gymnastics finished third at Brown University's Rumble & Tumble Meet on Sunday, Feb. 20. The Owls posted a score of 189.30, ahead of Rhode Island College's 183.85 but behind Long Island (194.00) and Brown (193.225).

Cassidy Girolamo (Newington, Conn.) and Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) led the Owls, with Girolamo placing eighth on the Vault and Zebdi placing fourth on the Floor. Girolamo also competed in the Floor event and was second on the team behind Zebdi while Zebdi turned in a solid performance on the Vault.

VAULT

• Girolamo finished eighth on the Vault with a score of 9.7 while freshman Brooke Burkhart (Haymarket, Va.) was 10^th at 9.675.
• Zebdi was 12^th with a 9.6 while freshman Sidney Wilson (Woodbridge, Ill.) was 14^th with a 9.5.
• Zebdi has posted a score of 9.6 in all seven meets this season for the Owls on the Vault. She's accomplished the same on the Beam in her last six meets.
• Burkhart has now hit with a 9.55-or-higher in five-straight meets.

BARS

• Chelsea Baker (Neptune, N.J.) led the Owls on the Bars with a career-best of 9.75 for a tie for fourth place.
• Audrey Arnold (Kirkland, Wash.) was tied for seventh with a career-best 9.7.

BEAM

• Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) continued to lead the Owls on the Beam as she posted a 9.65 for a tie of 8^th place.
• Lee has registed a score of 9.625-or-higher on the beam in five of the Owls' eight meets this season, including three-straight.
• Madi Tansowny (Calgary, Alberta) scored a career-best 9.65 to tie Lee while Emiley Kahl (Dallastown, Pa.) finished 13^th with a 9.4.

FLOOR

• Zebdi posted the Owls' top score of the meet on the Floor, finishing tied for fourth with a season-best 9.775.
• In a tight competition, Girolamo, just percentage points behind Zebdi with a 9.7 finished in 11^th place while Noely Macias' (Fitchburg, Mass.) 9.65 put her in 14^th.
• Girolamo has hit 9.7 in each of her last two meets while Macias now has a 9.6-or-higher in five-straight meets.

Southern is back in action on Sunday, Sept. 27 when it compete's in Springfield College's quad-meet featuring Centenary and Rhode Island College.
