Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics will travel to Springfield, Mass. to take on Springfield College, Centenary and Rhode Island College in a quad meet on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m.

The Owls' Last Time Out
Southern Connecticut gymnastics finished third at Brown University's Rumble & Tumble Meet on Sunday, Feb. 20. The Owls posted a score of 189.30, ahead of Rhode Island College's 183.85 but behind Long Island (194.00) and Brown (193.225).

Cassidy Girolamo (Newington, Conn.) and Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) led the Owls, with Girolamo placing eighth on the Vault and Zebdi placing fourth on the Floor. Girolamo also competed in the Floor event and was second on the team behind Zebdi while Zebdi turned in a solid performance on the Vault.

Notes
  • Freshman stand-out Brooke Burkhart leads the Owls with a 9.679 average on the Vault. Burkhart has scored a 9.55-or-higher in every meet this year including a season-best of 9.775 against Rhode Island at home.
  • Cassidy Girolamo sits second on the Vault with a 9.675 average, followed by Hanna Zebdi at 9.671.
  • On the Bars, Audrey Arnold is averaging a team-best 9.525 and is coming off a season-best 9.7 in her last time out at Brown.
  • On the Beam, Bianca Leon leads the team with a 9.65 average, followed by freshman Angel Lee with a 9.614 average. Emilia Diaz has posted a 9.8 on the beam twice this season.
  • On the floor, Noely Macias leads Southern with an average score of 9.575, while Zebdi checks-in at 9.518.
  • Girolamo has emerged as the team's leading scorer, totaling 197.5 points in seven meets while competing on the Bars, Vault and Floor.
  • Audrey Arnold leads the team with 66.675 points on the Bars, Girolamo leads the Vault with 67.725, Angel Lee has a team-best 67.30 on the Vault and Noely Macias leads the Owls on the Floor with 67.025.
  • Hanna Zebdi is second on the Vault (67.70) and Floor (66.625).
