Quick Turnaround
The Owls' competition at Rutgers will be their second in 24 hours as they also competed at Temple's Quad Meet on Thursday, Mar. 3. The Owls defeated Bridgeport, 188.950-186.450, at Temple University's Quad Meet in Philadelphia, Pa. The Owls finished third out of the four teams, behind host Maryland (196.55) and host Temple (195.775). Bianca Leon (Miami, Fla.) had the Owls' top score of the event with a 9.825 on the bars that tied for seventh out of 23
gymnasts while Cassidy Girolamo (Newington, Conn.) went 3-for-3 with three scores at 9.5-or-higher. Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) finished in the top 10 in the vault (9.775) and beam (9.725).

Notes
  • Cassidy Girolamo has emerged as the Owls' leading scorer (255.425) while competing on the vault, bars and floor.
  • Girolamo has competed in each event at every meet this season for the Owls.
  • For the year, she is second on the team with a 9.686 average on the vault while also averaging 9.278 on the bars and 9.417 on the floor.
  • Over her last four meets, Girolamo has posted scores of 9.5-or-higher on 11 of the 12 events that she's competed in, including 9.7-or-higher on the vault and floor in each event.
  • Hanna Zebdi sits in the top three in three events – the vault, beam and floor. Zebdi has competed on the vault and floor all season, and has emerged as a part of the beam team over the last two meets.
  • Zebdi is averaging 9.678 on the vault, 9.539 on the floor and 9.688 on the beam.
  • Zebdi was recognized as the Gymnastics East Conference Newcomer of the Week on Mar. 2.
  • Zebdi posted a personal best on the floor with a 9.825 at Springfield's tri-meet, which also featured Rhode Island College, while also finishing 2nd in the meet. She also placed 3rd on vault with a 9.625 and 4th with a 9.65 in her first time competing on the balance beam. 
  • Brooke Burkhart leads the team with a 9.688 average on the vault and has also competed on the floor over the Owls' last three meets.
  • Bianca Leon leads Southern with a 9.578 average on the bars, while Audrey Arnold is close behind at 9.569.
  • Angel Lee is averaging a team-leading 9.514 on the beam while Noely Macias averages a team-best 9.575 on the floor.
What's Up Next?
Southern will close the regular season on Sunday, Mar. 13 at University of New Hampshire's Whittemore Center Quad Meet which also features Penn State and Brown. Southern will then compete in the first Gymnastics East Conference Championship on Saturday, Mar. 19 at Brown University.
