PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Southern Connecticut gymnastics finished fourth at Rutgers Quad Meet with a score of 187.100. North Carolina State took first place (195.700), followed by Rutgers (194.975) and Brown (192.825).
Chelsea Baker (Neptune, N.J.) posted the Owls top score of the event with a 9.850 on the bars, while
Bianca Leon (Miami, Fla.) was close behind with a 9.750 in the event. Freshman
Ciana Rios (Vineland, N.J.) turned in her two best career scores to date in the bars (9.525) and floor (9.6) events.
VAULT
Southern compiled a team score of 48.050 on the vault, led by
Cassidy Girolamo's 9.725.
Brooke Burkhart had a 9.7 while
Hanna Zebdi (9.65) and Sidngey Wilson (9.55) also scored for the Owls.
BARS
Southern's bar team was its top point-scorer for the night, compiling 48.225 in the event. In addition to Baker's 9.85 and Leon's 9.75,
Delaney Fields posted a 9.65 while
Ciana Rios finished with a 9.525.
BEAM
Freshmen
Angel Lee and
Emelia Diaz led the Owls on the balance beam, with Lee scoring a team-best 9.725 followed by Diaz's 9.65.
FLOOR
Ciana Rios led the Owls in the floor event, scoring a career-best 9.6.

Southern will compete in its final regular-season competition of the season when it travels to Durham, N.H. on Sunday, Mar. 13 to compete in University of New Hampshire's Whittemore Center Quad Meet featuring UNH, Brown and Penn State.
