SCSU Men's Basketball's Zack Penn Named To CSC 2022-23 Academic All-District® Team

Southern Connecticut men's basketball's Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) was named to the prestigious College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) 2022-23 Academic All-District®Team, as announced by the CSCS on Tuesday, Feb. 22.nor. 

Student-athletes are eligible to receive Academic All-District® honors when the achieve a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and one year of enrollment at the nominating institution. Penn, who completed his bachelor's degree, is pursuing a master's degree in sports management with a concentration in athletic administration and carries a career GPA of 3.88. 

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
