SCSU Athletics Celebrates Academic Success For Spring 2025 Semester

NEW HAVEN, Conn. —Southern Connecticut State University Athletics reported a strong academic performance for the Spring 2025 semester.

A total of 324 out of 503 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 or higher grade-point average, with 39 earning perfect 4.0 GPAs. The department's overall GPA averaged 3.26.

The breakdown of student-athletes by GPA range was as follows: 15 achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, 186 earned GPAs between 3.50 and 3.99, and 122 had GPAs between 3.00 and 3.49.

Thirteen teams posted a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher, led by field hockey with a 3.604 GPA. Five teams achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher: volleyball, field hockey, women's swimming and diving, women's cross country and softball. Baseball led all men's sports with a 3.26 GPA.

Several teams had multiple student-athletes with perfect GPAs. Gymnastics led all teams with eight student-athletes with a 4.00 GPA, followed by women's track & field with seven. Football, softball and field hockey all featured four student-athletes with perfect GPAs while men's track & field featured three.

The student-athletes who achieved perfect GPAs include:
