Millsaps

Tammy Millsaps

Tammy Millsaps is in her third season as an assistant coach with the SCSU women’s basketball team. 
    
Most recently, Millsaps served as head women’s basketball coach at Bloomsburg University (Pa.), a fellow Division II program. She spent parts of three seasons in that role. Millsaps was named interim head coach for the final 19 games of the 2004-05 campaign before being elevated to the permanent position following the year. 
  
She started her stint at Bloomsburg as an assistant coach and spent parts of two seasons in that role before earning the interim head coach title. 
    
During her time at Bloomsburg, Millsaps coached eight All-Conference performers. Her teams qualified for the conference playoffs on two occasions. 
    
As a student-athlete, Millsaps played four seasons as a guard at Division I Virginia Commonwealth University. She also has coaching experience as an assistant at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Virginia Union University. 
    
Millsaps holds bachelor’s (mass communications/broadcasting) and master’s (sport leadership/coaching) degrees from VCU. She also has professional experience in the field at the Richmond, Va. NBC affiliate, where she served in a variety of roles – including directing and producing - for three years. 
    
Millsaps currently resides in West Haven, Conn.
