Giovanni D'Onofrio joined the SCSU Athletic Department as the Assistant Director of Athletics/Fiscal Affairs in 2017-18 after previously serving as the University's Payroll Coordinator, where he started his duties in April, 2004.
In his role as Payroll Coordinator, D'Onofrio managed a department comprised of four Full-Time Payroll Clerks and two Part-Time employees including recruitment and training of staff. In addition, he processed payroll for the university, which included approximately 1,000 Full-Time employees with membership in six different bargaining units and 1,800 Part-Time employees using the state's CORE-CT (PeopleSoft) application.
D'Onofrio forged working partnerships with numerous departments on-campus and within the state system including the State Comptroller Office, the SCSU Human Resources and Finance departments, the Teachers Retirement, State Retirement and Alternate Retirement divisions.
He joined SCSU after two years with Ceridian as an Implementation Manager/Project Manager.
D'Onofrio holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Quinnipiac and completed his master's degree in sports management at SCSU in 2017.
He currently resides in Orange, Conn.
