Get To Know Softball's Katrina Roy

Get to Know SCSU softball freshman Katrina Roy. The Bristol, Conn. native joins the Owls after a successful career at St. Paul Catholic High School and with the Connecticut Eliminators, an elite fast pitch softball organization. Roy, a left handed batter, plays second base and catches. She plans to major in business management.

What do your teammates call you?
Kat because it's short for Katrina.
 
What is your favorite tv show?
The Fosters
 
What is your favorite movie?
The Notebook

What professional athlete inspires you? Why?
Jim Abbott, because he was able to achieve playing professional baseball despite being born without a right hand.
 
Why did you choose Southern Connecticut? What set it apart from the other schools you visited?
I visited campus and instantly loved the environment, the coaches, and my future teammates that I met.
 
What does wearing the SCSU logo mean to you?
That I am apart of something bigger than myself.
 
What's your favorite inspirational quote?
"Enduring means accepting. Accepting things as they are and not as you would wish them to be, and then looking ahead, not behind.
 
What are three things on your bucket list?
Travel out of the country, go skydiving, and own my own business.
 
What do you want to do after Southern Connecticut?
Start my own business that is connected to athletics.
