SCSU Athletics Celebrates National Student-Athlete Day

4/6/2020 9:00:00 AM

Southern Connecticut State University is happy to announce that 237 of its 450+ student-athletes achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0-or-higher for the 2019-20 academic year. Of those 237, 24 achieved a 4.00 GPA. Among its Northeast 10 peers, Southern was one of 12 school's to place 50% of its student-athletes on the academic honor for the Fall semester. Of the 237 Owls to earn recognition, 111 had GPA's of 3.50 to 3.99 while 102 had GPA's ranging from 3.00 to 3.49, with the final 24 posted perfect 4.0 GPA's.

SCSU Athletics was scheduled to host its annual National Student-Athlete Day Luncheon on Tuesday, Apr. 7, but was forced to cancel the event due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. In lieu of a physical celebration of the student-athletes, SCSU Athletics will instead honor those student-athletes accomplishments here instead.
