NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Jasmine Bien-Aime (Cambridge, Mass.) of the women’s indoor track and field team and sophomore Michael Cameron (Hartford, Conn.) of the men’s indoor track and field team have been named as the Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Bien-Aime broke the school indoor record in the 200 meters during preliminary round action. She posted a time of 24.75 seconds, which eclipsed the old figure by .09 seconds. Bien-Aime captured All-New England honors in the 200 meters. She also qualified for the finals of the 60 meters.
Cameron was the New England runner-up in the shot put after a heave of 17.78 meters (58 feet, 4 inches).
