NEW HAVEN, Conn – Junior Jasmine Bien-Aime (Cambridge, Mass.) of the women’s outdoor track and field team and junior Nick Lebron (Newington, Conn.) of the men’s outdoor track and field team have been named as the Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Bien-Aime finished first in both the 100 and 200 meters at the Ramapo Roadrunner Invitational on Saturday. She crossed the line in the 12.1 seconds in the 100 meters and 25.24 seconds in the 200 meters. Bien-Aime topped a strong field in both events that included competitors from Division I programs Temple and Manhattan.
Lebron, also named the Northeast-10 Conference Athlete of the Week earlier today, finished in first place at the UConn Decathlon on Thursday and Friday with a NCAA Division II Championships automatic qualifying score of 7,263 points. His total was also the second-highest figure in Division II this year. During the competition, he recorded first place efforts in the 400 meters and 110 high hurdles. He finished no lower than fourth in any event.
