NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) of the volleyball team and senior Louis Greenway-Tambini (Nottingham, England) of the men’s soccer team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Jadus powered the Owls to a 3-0 week with triumphs over Bridgeport, Dominican and Georgian Court, posting two double-doubles in the process. She averaged 4.22 kills and 3.78 digs per set while also hitting at a .281 clip. Jadus led the Owls in kills against Dominican and had double-doubles against Bridgeport (13 kills, 16 digs) and Georgian Court (16 kills, 13 digs).
Greenway-Tambini netted the only goal of the contest as the Owls kicked off their season on a winning note with a 1-0 triumph over Mercy on Thursday.
Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University’s ‘Athlete of the Week’ recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the ‘Athlete of the Week’ program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
