NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Anna Venard (Thornton, Colo.) of the volleyball team and senior Louis Greenway-Tambini (Nottingham, England) of the men's soccer team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Venard, the Owls' libero, posted consecutive games with season-best tallies in digs. She registered 24 in a victory over Assumption and followed that up with 26 in a loss to Bentley. The 26 digs were the third-highest single-game total of her career.
Greenway-Tambini continued his torrid play with both goals, including the game-winner, in the Owls' 2-1 win at St. Michael's. It was his fourth game-winner of the year.
Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University's 'Athlete of the Week' recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
