NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) of the volleyball team and freshman Julian Chung (Franklin Square, N.Y.) of the football team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Jadus notched a pair of double-doubles in a 2-0 week for the Owls that included triumphs over Assumption and Bentley. She had 11 kills and 10 digs in the win over Assumption and followed with 18 kills and 11 digs in the win over Bentley. She also hit at a .244 clip for the week and averaged 3.2 kills and 2.3 digs per set.
Chung had four catches for a career-high 85 yards and a receiving touchdown in the Owls' 43-7 win over St. Anselm on Saturday.
Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University's 'Athlete of the Week' recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
