NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Five Owls dropped double-digit points on Tuesday night but it wasn't enough as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team lost to Pace, 83-70. Sophomore forward Kieran Ramsey (North Hollywood, Calif.) led Southern with a team- and season-high 18 points and sophomore guard Chris Harris (Brooklyn, N.Y.) dished out a game-high seven assists.

The Owls have fallen to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the NE-10. The Setters are now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

In the first twenty minutes of regulation, the Owls found themselves down 18 with 3:11 remaining but Southern cut the deficit to 11 with a quick 7-0 run in a minute and 30 seconds. They weren't done yet as Ramsey nailed a deep three with zero seconds remaining as the Owls trailed at the half, 46-36.

Ramsey led all scorers at the break with 15 and junior Dexton Williamson (Bridgeport, Conn.) added eight. Adrian Mills of the Setters tallied 12 points at halftime to lead his squad.

The Owls found themselves trailing large late in the second half down 19 at the 7:57 mark but a 13-0 run which began with a Clyde Chapman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) lay-up, gave the Owls a chance down just eight with 4:38 to go. However that would be the closest margin the rest of the way, as Pace pulled away to take an 83-70 win.

Joining Ramsey in double-digits were Chapman with 13, Williamson with 12, Tobin Carberry (Hamden, Conn.) with 11 and Ante Cosic (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) with 10. Williamson was two rebounds shy of his first double-double as he led the team with eight boards.

The Owls have a short break before returning to action on Sunday as they travel to AIC for another conference matchup scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
