WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior Sylvonya Moore (Stockton, Calif.) finished with 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team lost at Assumption on Wednesday night, 65-61. The Owls were tied with the Greyhounds going into the break but a late rally by Assumption shut the door on Southern Connecticut.
The Owls conclude their season with a final mark of 11-16, 7-15 in Northeast-10. Assumption improves to 20-6 and 18-4 in Northeast-10 play.
Sophomore Camille Fantini (Andover, Mass.) scored a career-high 13 points and also had four assists for the Owls. Logan Lentz (Chambersburg, Pa.) chipped in 10 points in her final game as an Owl, while Moni Smith-Ocran (Bronx, N.Y.) had seven points and nine rebounds.
The Owls will only lose two players from graduation so look for them to build on this come the 2011-12 season.
