NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The duo of senior Shelley Pierson (Watervliet, N.Y.) and freshman Moni Smith-Ocran (Bronx, N.Y.) combined for 24 points and 22 rebounds to lead the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team to a 53-52 win over Pace on Tuesday evening at Moore Field House. Pierson had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Smith-Ocran tallied nine points and 11 rebounds. It was the fourth win in a row for the Owls.

Pierson was automatic from the free throw line going 5-for-8 on the night. Logan Lentz (Chambersburg, Pa.) led the Owls in minutes played and collected seven points and six rebounds. Camille Fantini (Andover, Mass.) added four points and 4 steals in the game.

SCSU improved to 10-13, 6-12 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Pace is now 18-6, 12-6.

The Owls will travel to Springfield, Mass. to play AIC on Saturday, February 12th. The game is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
