NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Four players went into double-digits as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team recorded thier first home win of the season with a 76-53 win over Le Moyne at Moore Field House in New Haven, Conn.
Trevon Hamlet (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Owls (5-2, 3-2 NE-10) with 21 points and six rebounds.
Luke Houston (Pearl River, N.Y.) scored a career-high 20 points and four rebounds.
Greg Langston (Stratford, Conn.) chipped in 14 points while
Stefon Williams (Jamaica, N.Y.) scored 12.
Nate Champion led Le Moyne (2-3, 2-3 NE-10) with 15 points, and Jim Janson had 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Owls jumped out to an 8-5 lead, and never relinquished the lead in the game.
Williams had a layup and gave the Owls a 25-15 lead.
The Owls were hot throughout the first half with shot selection, and went up 42-24 when Houston had a layup.
SCSU led 46-31 at halftime.
In the second half, the Owls led by double-digits for the entire half. The lead was as many as 28, at 76-48 with 2:58 remaining.
