THE REGULAR SEASON CONCLUDES
The No. 22 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will travel to Adelphi (9-16, 7-14 NE-10) on Tuesday for the final game of the regular season. SCSU enters the game with a 21-4 overall mark and is 18-3 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

OWLS DEBUT IN NATIONAL POLL
The Owls have won 19 of their last 20 games and made their debut last week at No. 22 in the WBCA/ESPN Division II poll.

SCSU NO. 2 IN FIRST NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
Southern Connecticut checked in with the No. 2 spot in the first NCAA Regional rankings last week. The rankings are used to determine NCAA Tournament selection and seeding.

ALL-TIME AGAINST ADELPHI
The Owls bring a 7-4 all-time record into their game against Adelphi. SCSU defeated Adelphi, 69-61, back on Nov. 16.

ALL-AROUND GAME AGAINST LE MOYNE
The Owls had five players with double-figures against Le Moyne. Camille Fantini, Moni Smith-Ocran and Sylvonya Moore all finished with a team-high 16 points. Fantini and Moore both finished with four steals and five assists. Smith-Ocran picked up a double-double with 12 rebounds to go along with 16 points and three steals. Alex Fiola finished the day with 11 points and two assists. Keshia Primo gave the Owls 14 points and two steals off the bench.

BALANCED SCORING ATTACK
Four players scored double-figures on Saturday at New Haven. Camille Fantini led the squad, recording a team-high 20 points, six assists and six steals. Moni Smith-Ocran tallied 18 points and nine rebounds in the win. Sylvonya Moore chipped in 15 points and seven boards. Alex Fiola produced 11 points, two assists and two steals.

FANTINI FANTASTIC IN BACK TO BACK GAMES
Camille Fantini enjoyed a career night in the win against AIC. She set a new career-high with 22 points while collecting six steals and five rebounds. Before that, at Pace, Fantini put up 20 points and also pulled down 10 rebounds. Fantini also added a career-best six assists and three steals.

AND FOR HER EFFORTS...
Fantini was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for her efforts against Pace and AIC.

DOWN THE STRETCH
With one game to go the Owls are in sole possession of second place in the NE-10. The top 10 teams in the conference will make the NE-10 tournament, with the top four teams hosting.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Moni Smith-Ocran posted her eighth double-double of the year with an 16-point, 12-rebound effort in the win over LeMoyne. She now has 10 career double-doubles.

SENIORS SET NEW SEASON-HIGHS
Senior guards Alex Fiola and Lauren Allen set new season-highs in scoring en-route to a 71-63 win over Assumption. Allen netted a season-high 12 points, while classmate Fiola tallied 20 points.

STRINGING IT TOGETHER
The Owls 15-game winning streak was the longest since the 2006-07 season.

RISING TO THE CHALLENGE
Southern has taken down three nationally ranked opponents this year, including No. 22 Assumption, No. 23 Franklin Pierce and No. 5 Bentley.

BALL BANDIT
Junior Camille Fantini recorded a new career-high seven steals in a win over Assumption on Jan. 31.

OWLS BREAK BENTLEY'S HOME STREAK
Southern broke Bentley's 17-game home winning streak, beating the No. 5 nationally ranked Falcons, 63-59 on Jan. 28.

MOORE EARNS NE-10 WEEKLY HONORS
Sylvonya Moore was selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the Owls' two wins. She averaged 25.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest, including a career-high 30 points in the win over SNHU.

GIVE ME MOORE
Sylvonya Moore erupted for a career-high 30 points in a win over SNHU. She scored 20 points in the first half and knocked down her first seven field goals en route to a 12-for-15 effort from the field. Moore also added a career-high six steals and six rebounds in the contest.

DOUBLE DOSE
Junior Camille Fantini and sophomore Moni Ocran-Smith registered double-doubles en-route to a 59-38 win against Stonehill. Fantini netted 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Ocran-Smith tallied 18 points and grabbed 13 boards.

FANTINI SETS NEW CARRER HIGHS VS. STONEHILL
Camillie Fantini netted 17 points to go along with a career-high 11 rebounds against Stonehill. 

FRESHMAN FURRY
Freshman guard Mariah Hankton had a game-high 15 points in a win over St. Anselm.

CAREER HIGHS EQUALING SUCCESS
The Owls have benefitted from increased scoring output from nearly its entire roster this season. Returners Sylvonya Moore (14.2 ppg), Alex Fiola (9.0 ppg), Camille Fantini (12.0 ppg), Moni Smith-Ocran (10.2 ppg) and Shaniqua Fuller (2.8 ppg) are currently all posting career-bests in points per game.

STEALING THE SHOW
The Owls recorded a season-high 21 steals against Queens on Jan. 9 and at Merrimack on Jan 14.

TRACKING THE TRENDS
SCSU is 10-3 when senior guard Sylvonya Moore leads the team in scoring, and 17-1 when Moni Ocran-Smith leads the team in rebounding. The club is also 14-0 when at least one player posts a double-digit rebounding effort and 11-0 when a player records a double-double.

MOORE EARNS NE-10 HONORS ONCE AGAIN
Sylvonya Moore was selected to the Northeast-10 weekly honor roll for her play against St. Michael's and Merrimack. She averaged 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per contest in a 2-0 week for the Owls.

FIOLA KICKING IT UP A NOTCH
Senior guard Alex Fiola averaged 16.5 points per game in the Owls' contests against St. Michael's and Merrimack, while also hitting on 10-of-23 shots from behind the three-point arc.

AGGRESSIVE DOWN ON THE BLOCKS
Moni Smith-Ocran has recorded double digits rebounding efforts in 12 of the last 18 contests.

AMONG THE NORTHEAST-10 LEADERS
Camille Fantini leads the league with 3.6 steals per game and 89 total steals, while Moni Smith-Ocran is currently fourth in the NE-10 with 9.7 rebounds per contest and is 13th in steals. Alex Fiola is also 17th in the league in assists. Sylvonya Moore ranks third in the league in steals, 14th in assists and 13th in points/game.

AMONG THE NCAA LEADERS
Southern is currently ranked No. 7 in the country in steals/game and ranks No. 9 in turnover margin. Camille Fantini is also No. 9 in steals/game.

HANKTON SHINES
Freshman Mariah Hankton netted a career-high 22 points in a conference matchup against UMass-Lowell on Jan. 7.

TEAM EFFORT
The Owls made a statement against UMass-Lowell, outscoring the RiverHawks, 40-9, in bench points.

CAN WE GET SOME MOORE
Senior Sylvonya Moore finished with a double-double against UMass-Lowell. Moore posted 13 points and 14 rebounds in the win.

FOUR SCORE AND...
Southern Connecticut had four players in double figures against Franklin Pierce, led by a 21-point effort from Sylvonya Moore.

FOLLOW THE CAPTAINS LEAD
Senior point guard Alex Fiola netted 19 points to help lead Southern to a win over Eckerd College.

MISSING IN ACTION
The Owls continued their dominance as seven players recorded a steal in the 81-57 win over New Haven. Camille Fantini finished with five steals to lead the way, while senior captain Alex Fiola had a career-high four steals.

MOORE FUELS COMEBACK
Sylvonya Moore scored a career-high 27 points to go along with eight rebounds, two assists and three steals in the overtime win against AIC. The Owls came back from an eight point halftime deficit to send the game into overtime, where Moore stole the show by scoring all eight of the Owls' points in the extra frame as SCSU went on to win, 71-66.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN
One hundred and seventy four of the 231 shots taken by Alex Fiola this year have been three-pointers.

SHARP SHOOTERS
Efficient shooting aided the Owls in their win over AIC, as they shot 52.8 percent from the field en route to the comeback victory.

IN THE NE-1O PRESEASON POLL
The Owls were selected 13th in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll.

MOORE EARNS NE-10 HONORS
Sylvonya Moore was named to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll for her play against Adelphi and St. Thomas Aquinas. She averaged 19 points per game and totaled nine steals, seven rebounds and eight assists.

LOOKING BACK AT THE YEAR THAT WAS
The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team concluded its 2010-11 season with 11 wins. The Owls just missed a Northeast-10 Tournament berth.

COMMUNITY SERVICE CUP WINNERS
The team won the Tim Greer Insurance Agency Inc. Community Service Cup for their efforts during the 2010-11 academic year.

COMMUNITY RECOGNITION
The 2010-11 squad was recognized by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education for their outstanding community service efforts. Head coach Meghan Brown and captain Alex Fiola attended an event in Hartford to receive formal recognition for their efforts in April.
