No. 18 Women's Basketball Faces Holy Family In Regional Semifinals

ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO
The No. 18 nationally ranked and No. 2 seeded Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will take on No. 6 seeded Holy Family at Bentley on Saturday in an East Regional semifinal contest in the NCAA tournament. SCSU enters the game with a 25-5 overall mark, while Holy Family is 25-7.

SECOND HALF COMEBACK PROPELS SCSU
Trailing by 16 points in the second half on Friday, the Owls rallied all the way back, capped by a jumper by Sylvonya Moore with 4.7 seconds in a 58-57 win over C.W. Post in a NCAA opening round game. Keshia Primo led the way for the Owls with 16 points, while Moore added 11 and Moni Smith-Ocran, 10. Smith-Ocran added 12 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the year.

SCSU IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
This is the sixth appearance all-time for the Owls in the tournament. SCSU is 13-4 all-time in the NCAA tournament and has won at least one game in all six of its appearances. The Owls are also riding a seven-game NCAA Tournament win streak into Saturday's game.

ALL-TIME VS. HOLY FAMILY
Holy Family leads the all-time series against Southern Connecticut by a 3-2 margin, with the Owls holding a 2-0 edge in NCAA Tournament action (see p. 7 of notes for series history).
