Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. -
Jackie Beathea (Annandale, Va.) posted her first double-double of the season to give the Southern Connecticut State University (1-1) women's basketball its first win of the season tonight, beating Concordia (0-2) 97-57.
The score was close early on in the game, the Owls began to pull away in the first half with a few quick runs. A three-pointer from
Mariah Hankton (Marlboro, Md.) with 10:15 remaining really sparked the team's scoring for the rest of the first half. Concordia tried to fight back but were unable to decrease the deficit. Up by 22, the Owls went into halftime with the lead by a score of 48-26.
The Owls continued their hot scoring in the second half. Another three-pointer from Hankton with twelve and a half minutes to go made the score 70-38. The frustration from Concordia began to become noticeable as they had two players foul out of the contest. It didn't bother the Owls however, as they kept on adding to their lead.

Keshia Primo (Mississauga, Ontario).
