LOOKING TO KEEP IT GOING
Winners of five in a row, the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team (15-6, 12-5 Northeast-10) will play two games this week. The Owls will host Pace on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and will then travel to AIC on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Three players were in double digits as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team defeated Saint Rose, 78-60, in a Northeast-10 Conference game from Moore Field House in New Haven, Conn.

Trevon Hamlet led the Owls with 25 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
Greg Langston also had 20 points while
Deshawn Murphy chipped in 16 points and seven rebounds.
• In the first half, the Owls led from 5-4 and never relinquished the lead for the game.
• Southern took a 27-15 lead with a 10-2 run capped off by a three-pointer from Langston, assisted to Hamlet.
• Saint Rose would then go on a 8-0 run to get within 28-25 capped off with free-throws from Andre Pope. The Owls would take a 37-32 lead into halftime.
• In the second half, SCSU extended the lead to 45-34 with 18:18 remaining after back-to-back three-pointers from Murphy.
• The Owls would then go on a 12-2 run to take a 64-42 lead with 11:57 remaining, the biggest of the game, that they would hold for the remainder of the game.
WIDENING THE GAP
The Owls have held double digits leads the past three games against Bentley, Assumption and Saint Rose after having to come from behind three game prior to that against Saint Anselm, Stonehill, and SNHU.
LANGSTON, HAMLET EARN WEEKLY HONORS
Greg Langston was named Northeast-10 Co-Player of the Week while
Trevon Hamlet was named to the weekly honor roll last week Langston averaged 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds during a 2-0 week for the Owls. Langston registered a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in a 62-56 comeback win at Southern New Hampshire, and then led all scorers with 28 points and five rebounds, and had the game-winning layup in an 83-81 win against Bentley. Hamlet averaged 17 points, 6.5 rebounds and two blocks last week for the Owls. Hamlet registered 11 points, nine rebounds and two blocks against SNHU, and 23 points, four rebounds and two blocks against Bentley.
ANOTHER FEAT ACHIEVED, BUT MORE TO GO
The Owls earned win No. 15 of the campaign on Sunday against St. Rose to give the team its highest single-season win total since 1999-2000 - also the last time that the program reached the NCAA Tournament.
ALL-TIME AGAINST PACE
Pace leads the all-time series, 20-6. The Owls defeated Pace, 84-75, on Nov. 28 in Pleasantville, N.Y.

AIC leads the all-time series, 44-22. The Owls lost to AIC, 84-82, in overtime on Dec. 1 in New Haven, Conn.
AGAINST PACE - NOV. 28, 2012
The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team fought off a late comeback and went on to defeat Pace, 84-75, in the Northeast-10 Conference game at Goldstein Health, Fitness and Recreation Center in Pleasantville, N.Y.
Trevon Hamlet led the Owls with 24 points and four rebounds and scored his 1000th point as an Owl early in the second half.

Rashamell Vereen scored 15 points for SCSU.
Stefon Williams scored 13 points with six rebounds and
Deshawn Murphy 13 points.
• SCSU took a 47-29 lead at halftime. The Owls led 76-51 when Williams made a layup with 8:56 remaining. Pace then went on a 19-3 run to get within 79-70 with 3:32 remaining, causing a Southern timeout. The Owls were able to put it away when Hamlet made it 84-72 after a three-pointer with 2:27 remaining.
AGAINST AIC - DEC. 1, 2012
Five players scored in double figures, but the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team was defeated by AIC in overtime, 84-82, in a Northeast-10 Conference game in New Haven, Conn.

Trevon Hamlet led the Owls with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Greg Langston scored 16 points and seven rebounds.
• The Owls led 40-32 at halftime. In the second half, AIC kept charging at the Owls and made it close.
• Janek Schmidkunz hit a three-pointer to make it 58-57, causing a Southern timeout with 8:04 remaining. AIC made it 75-73 with 41 seconds left after Sesoo Ikpah's jumper. After a SCSU turnover, Spencer Braithwaite tied it at 75 to force overtime.
• In overtime, both teams were very physical and fought to the final shots. After AIC took a 84-82 lead, the Owls had a chance to tie the game in the final second but were unable.
AN IMPRESSIVE COMEBACK
Southern Connecticut trailed Southern New Hampshire, 27-4, late in the first half of a Jan. 29 contest. However, the Owls rallied from an eventual 19-point halftime deficit to capture a 62-56 win over the Penmen.
IT'S BEEN A WHILE
The win over Stonehill was the first for the Owls over the Skyhawks since the 2006-07 season. The win at SNHU was the Owls' first win in Manchester in 14 years. The win over Bentley was the first for the Owls since 1992. Bentley had won 17 straight in the series.
THEY'VE ALL BEEN NAIL BITERS LATELY
Prior to Wednesday's game at Assumption, each of the 12 games before that for the Owls has been decided by six points or less, with just two of those decided by more than five points. Southern Connecticut was 8-4 over that stretch.
LANGSTON NAMED CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Greg Langston was selected as the Northeast-10 Co-Player of the Week for his efforts in the Owls' wins over Southern New Hampshire and Bentley.
HAMLET TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL...AGAIN
Trevon Hamlet has been named to the Northeast-10 weekly honor roll in each of the past six weeks.
MURPHY POSTS CAREER-HIGH...AGAIN
Deshawn Murphy scored a career-high 21 points in the win over Assumption.
OWLS KNOCK OFF NATIONALLY RANKED FPU
Southern Connecticut had one of its biggest wins in the Mike Donnelly era with a 68-65 triumph over No. 14 nationally ranked Franklin Pierce on Jan. 9.
RETURN TO SENDER
Trevon Hamlet is first in the NE-10 in blocks per game (2.6, 56 total). He is also No. 7 in the NCAA in that department.
KEEP THEM UNDER 70
The Owls are currently 9-0 on the year when holding the opposition to few than 70 points.
