NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Double-doubles from junior Moni Smith-Ocran (Bronx, N.Y.) and freshman Jackie Beathea (Annandale, Va.) weren't enough for the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team as it fell on Tuesday night to Pace, 65-51.

Pace (12-10, 10-8 Northeast-10) started the first three minutes on a 7-0 run, but the Owls would respond with a 8-0 surge of their own capped off by a Beathea layup to give the Owls an early, 8-7, lead.

Southern Connecticut led early in the second half, but the Setters would battle back and turn in a 15-6 run over an eleven minute span. Pace's Allison Cleary would score eight points during the run, including two three pointers to give the Setters a 56-42 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the game.

Pace would close the game out as Yuni Sher would score eight of the last 11 points for the Setters, including six from the free throw stripe, to give them a 65-51 win on the road over Southern Connecticut.
