Complete Game Notes as a .PDFA NEW SEASON BEGINSThe Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team opens up the 2014-15 season on Nov. 15 as the Owls participate in the 2014 UB Women's Basketball Classic. On Saturday, the Owls take on Molloy College at 11 a.m. before facing the University of Bridgeport on Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
IN SEASON OPENERSSouthern Connecticut is 31-13 all-time in season-opening games. The Owls lost last year's season opener against Saint Thomas Aquinas, 67-62.

DESALVO NOTEBert DeSalvo begins his first full season as head coach for the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team. DeSalvo has compiled a 99-26 (.792) overall record as a head coach.

LOOKING BACK ON THE SEASON THAT WASThe Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team closed the regular season with 12 wins and qualified for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. The Owls had three student-athletes recognized by the league with year-end honors.

AMONG THE NE-10 LEADERSAmongst the returners, the Owls had two players finish in the top 10 of Northeast-10 Conference participants in three categories.

Jackie Beathea finished No. 1 in rebounds per game, pulling down 10.1 per contest.

EXCELLING IN THE CLASSROOMSouthern Connecticut had nine student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom during the 2013-14 academic year.
UP NEXTThe Owls open up Northeast-10 Conference play on Nov. 19 as the team travels to Garden City, N.Y. to take on Adelphi University. The game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
