No. 11 SCSU Wins Tenth in a Row, 78-64 Over Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Behind a new career-high of 30 points from freshman Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) the No. 11 Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team ran it's winning streak to 10 with a 78-64 victory over Adelphi.

The freshman, who went 8/11 from the field and a perfect 11-of-11 from the foul line, grabbed five rebounds.

Tylon Smith (Manchester, Conn.) scored 14 points to go along with six assists and five rebounds.

SCSU, 21-2, 15-2 Northeast-10, received 15 points, five assists and a team-high nine rebounds from senior Greg Langston (Stratford, Conn.).

Deshawn Murphy (Hamden, Conn.) added 16 points and five boards for the victors, who opened up what was a close game in the second half.

The Owls are in the midst of their longest winning streak since the 1999-2000 team won 12 straight from 12/18/99-2/7/00

SCSU, 21-2, 15-2 Northeast-10, looks to avenge an earlier season setback when it hosts Pace on Feb. 19 at 7:30p.m.
