NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) set a new career high with 27 points as the No. 16 Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team cruised past Le Moyne, 97-75. 


Mallory, one of five Owls to score in double figures, went 10-of-14 from the floor, including five-of-eight from three-point range. The freshman came off the bench to finish with four rebounds, two assists and one block.

Luke Houston (Pearl River, N.Y.) added 20 points for SCSU.  The Owls' tri-captain also grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists.


Tylon Smith (Manchester, Conn.) scored 15 points and grabbed six 'boards.


Greg Langston surpassed the 1,700 career points total today, netting 12 points.  The senior, who grabbed six rebounds and had six assists, now has 1,702 career points.


Deshawn Murphy (Hamden, Conn.) added 11 points and had three steals.

The Owls' jumped out to a quick lead, shooting over 65% from the floor in the opening period.  SCSU held a 52-21 lead at the half.

The Dolphins never trailed by less than 20 in the second half.


SCSU improved to 20-2, 14-2 NE-10.  The Owls play next at Adelphi on Feb. 15.
