View Complete ResultsNEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team came away with a 154-135 win on Friday over Pace on Senior Night.
Sydney Fromkin (Sharon, Mass.)
Katherine Crochet (Waterbury, Conn.),
Emily Wolfe (Havertown, Pa.) and
Katherine Krajcik (Stratford, Conn.) all came away with individual victories for the Owls. Southern Connecticut also took first place in both relay races, and
Haley Boland (Waterbury, Conn.) grabbed first place in both diving events.

Christina Lavery (West Haven, Conn.) earned first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.60. Lavery,
Kerstin Eckner (Oxford, Conn.),
Lilly Martin (Bristol, Conn.) and
Aubrey Bailey (El Cajon, Calif.) took first in the 400 yard medley relay at 4:10.55. Lavery, the only senior on the roster, would go on to finish fourth in both the 200 yard butterfly at 2:22.91 and the 500 yard freestyle at 5:45.40.
Fromkin won the 1650 yard freestyle at 17:58.23.
Jennifer Belanger (South Windsor, Conn.) and
Kayla Laydon (North Haven, Conn.) placed right behind her in second and third with times of 18:03.11 and 18:07.21, respectively. The Owls also took the top three spots in the 100 yard backstroke. Wolfe placed first at 1:04.25, Eckner came in second at 1:05.40 and
Miranda Gursky (Watertown, Conn.) took third at 1:08.80.
Crochet finished in first place with a time of 1:57.40 in the 200 yard freestyle. Krajcik placed third at 1:59.86. Crochet also took first place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.54. Fromkin finished third in that event at 26.17.
Krajcik finished first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.93. Wolfe finished second at 56.30.
Boland won the one meter dive with a score of 245.10 and the three meter dive with 244.13 points.
Isabel Williams (Woodbury, Conn.) and
Christina Verzino (Watertown, Conn.) flip-flopped third and fourth finishes in those races. Williams took third in the one meter dive with 202.65 points and fourth in the three meter dive with 160.65 points. Verzino took fourth in the one meter with a score of 148.28 and third in the three meter with 164.55 points.
Martin finished the day with two second place finishes in both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke events. She finished the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:10.73 and the 200 at 2:33.65.
Meaghan Spagnolo (Waterbury, Conn.) finished in third place in the 100 yard with a time of 1:13.53.
The Northeast-10 Championships begin Thursday, February 4 at 10 a.m. in Worcester, Mass.
