PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y - The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team defeated Pace University this evening, 68-63.

TEAM RECORDS: SCSU (8-2, 5-0 Northeast-10); PACE (4-5, 1-4 NE-10)

FIRST HALF
Junior Jerry Luckett, Jr. (Milwaukee, Wisc.) scored 10 of his game-high 17 points in the first half. Sophomore Joey Wallace (Rochester, N.Y.) added eight points and sophomore Bernard Brantley (Stratford, Conn.) scored all of his nine points in the first half. SCSU carried a 38-30 halftime.

SECOND HALF
Senior Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) gave the Owls its largest lead of the game (10 points) with 7:35 to play, 55-45. Ryan Peterson's three-pointer gave the Setters' a two point lead with 2:13 to play, 60-58. The Owls would regain a 61-60 lead with 1:43 to play, off a three-point shot from Jerry Luckett, Jr. Sophomore Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) connected on a clutch three-pointer with 53 seconds to play that gave the Owls a commanding, 64-60 lead. McLeod would ice the game at the line with two free throws, securing a 68-63 Owls' win.

Four players scored in double figures:

• Jerry Luckett, Jr. - 17 points, nine rebounds (four offensive)
• Joey Wallace - 16 points and four rebounds
• Michael Mallory - 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals
• Isaiah McLeod - 13 points and four rebounds 

NE-10 STANDINGS
The Owls remain as the only unbeaten team in the NE-10 with a conference record of 5-0.
