Abby Hurlbert (Thomaston, Conn.) hit a career-high in points for the second game straight as the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball squad took down No. 8 nationally ranked and previously undefeated Saint Thomas Aquinas this afternoon at Moore Field House, 73-52.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SCSU led by as many as 22 points during the duration of the game. The Owls opened today's matchup with an 8-0 run in the first two and half minutes of play.
- With the exception of one tie in the first quarter, the Owls held onto the lead throughout the next three frames.
- The Owls used a pivotal second quarter spurt in which they outscored STAC, 22-10, to build a 39-20 lead at the half.
- Three-point shots were the name of the game for the Owls offense, as
Africa Williams went 6-for-10, while Hurlbert went 4-for-6.
- Steinauer recorded her sixth double-double of the season, while Hurlbert broke her career-high in points previously set last week (21) with a team-high 24 points.
