HOW IT HAPPENED

-SCSU went on an 11-4 run in the first quarter to take an eight point lead into the second frame.

-The Panthers offense awakened in the second frame, where they outscored the Owls 19-8 in the quarter, that included a 10-2 run to take a two point lead over the Owls going into halftime.

-After trailing by two points to end the first 20 minutes, the Owls emerged in the third quarter going on an 8-0 run to begin the frame to regain the lead. SCSU would go on to outscore the Panthers 17-7.

-The final frame saw both teams battling for the lead as Adelphi went on an 8-2 run in the final 16 seconds of the game, but it was not enough to catch the surging Owls as their poised defensive play warded off the Panthers. SCSU would capture their sixth straight victory and advance to a 4-0 record in conference play.
