SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team lost to LeMoyne College this afternoon in NE10 action, 75-60.
TEAM RECORDS: SCSU (16-11, 12-7 NE10) | LeMoyne 20-5 (15-4 NE10)
Joey Wallace (Rochester, N.Y.) and
Jerry Luckett, Jr. (Milwaukee, Wisc.) each had 17 points to lead the Owls, with the latter also pulling down eight boards.
Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) added 10 points, six assists, three steals and two blocks.
LATE RUN GOES TO THE DOLPHINS: Southern Connecticut led by three at the half, 33-30. The start of the second half saw the lead change hands several times, but the Owls still held a 49-47 lead with 9:05 left on the heels of a Mallory three-pointer. From there, LeMoyne went on a 22-3 run to take control of the game for good.
A QUICK START FOR WALLACE: Wallace scored all 17 of his points in the opening half, and, thanks in part to his efforts, lifted the Owls in front at the break.
